AWARD DATE:       The $1,000 scholarship will be presented at the AWC Career Quest Roundtable on Monday, February 21, 2005, 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at the Friedrick Center, 1950 Willow Drive on the west side of campus.

 

ELIGIBILITY:           

  1. Must be a member in good standing of the AWC student chapter or the Madison AWC Professional Chapter
  2. Must be a student with a major in a communications field
  3. Cumulative GPA must be 2.5 or higher (include a copy of your most recent transcript)
  4. Complete scholarship application information, press release and essay (the essay will count 50% in the evaluation process)
  5. Minimum application review value of 85 points

  5. ESSAY:  Describe what attracted you to communications, and how you think you can make a difference working in this field. Replies should not exceed two typed pages in easily readable font size. 50 point value

  6. Press Release: Write a press release announcing the winner of the Catch a Rising Star Scholarship, as if you had won. To describe yourself, include some of the information you have detailed above. 25 point value
